It applies to members, to parents or guardians creating a profile on someone's behalf, and to visitors.
By creating an account and submitting a profile you confirm that you are of legal marriage age (or are the parent/guardian creating a profile for a family member with their knowledge) and you give consent to the processing described here. Your consent is recorded with a date and time.

When you register and build a profile we store the details you enter. Many fields are optional - share only what you are comfortable with. Some details, such as religion, community, star/rasi or income, are personal and are collected only because they matter in matchmaking; you may leave optional fields blank.

Photos you upload are stored in a dedicated folder under random file names, so your name never appears in an image address. When you contact us or use account tools we also receive the usual technical data needed to run a secure website.

We use the safeguards built into WordPress together with additional privacy controls designed for matrimony profiles, and we limit who can see what.

You are in control of your information. You may access and update your profile from your account at any time, and withdraw consent or ask us to hide or close your profile whenever you no longer wish to be listed.
You may request a copy of your data - we can export everything stored in your profile, including photos and your consent record - and you may request erasure, in which case your profile and all of its photos are permanently deleted. Deleting your account has the same effect.
We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request and will respond within a reasonable time as required by applicable law, including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you believe your data is mishandled you may raise a complaint with our Grievance Desk below.

4A. Brokers and Profiles Posted by Brokers4A. தரகர்களும் தரகர்கள் வெளியிடும் சுயவிவரங்களும்
Namma Matrimony lets approved brokers (matrimony agents and consultants) create profiles on behalf of their clients, that is, brides, grooms and their families. This section explains how those profiles are handled and applies in addition to the rest of this policy. A person who joins on their own has one profile; an approved broker may post several client profiles, up to a limit we set.
A broker may upload details about another person only with that person's consent (or the consent of their parent or guardian). The broker is the person responsible for the data they post: for its accuracy, for holding that consent, and for checking that the bride or groom is genuine. Namma Matrimony hosts and displays the profile on the broker's instructions and does not itself verify the bride or groom. A "verified by broker" mark only shows that the broker says they have checked the details.
Only the broker's contact details are shown on a broker's profile. The phone number and email of the bride or groom are not shown on the profile, in listings or in our emails to members. Brokers cannot send interests; members who like a profile contact the broker. Any brokerage fee is decided and charged by the broker and is outside Namma Matrimony - see our Refund Policy.
